Well I was born in Oregon in 1979 and rasied all over the Pacific North West. After finishing high school in 1997, I moved to Seattle where I attended North Seattle Community College. It was there that I decided to pursue a degree in geology. After finishing my AS degree in Seattle, I moved to Honolulu for school. I earned my BS in Geology and Geophysics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2004. I've been working for a year as a drill rig operator/geologist for an environmental sampling company.

I have been at home in the outdoors since I can remember. I've always loved the woods, the mountains, the sky, the ocean, the natural world. I've been lucky enough see some very beautiful places in this world, and hope to see many more. My PCT hike first became a 'plan' about 14 months ago. Since then, I've been reading books and articles, researching and buying gear, reading trail journals, and generally seeking out any info I can about the PCT. On April 26th, I'll start the trail. With that first step, I'll begin a journey that I expect to be a life changing experience. I sit typing this with less than 30 days until my trek begins.
