Carsten Jost and Alina Budai
I come from a pretty outdoorsy family. We didn't go to hotels and beaches in Spain but went on wilderness canoeing trips in Sweden. I kept the passion for the outdoors and luckily enough I found a partner that shares the same interest. Alina loves sports and outdoors and wanted to work in that field early on. She is a scuba diving instructor, rafting and canyoneering guide and just needs to keep moving. She really can't sit still for a second.
On my AT hike in 2004 I recognized that more than just my friends were interested in what I was doing and decided that I wanted to use this interest to bring attention to an organisation that helps cancer kids and their families in coping the every-day problems that cancer wrecks families which are pretty hard to grasp for people that haven't had this misfortune. Alina and I usually work a lot to finance our trips and we have stuff like the CDT, the Hayduke Trail, the spanish Pyrenness and a canor trip on the Yukon in our pipeline :-)
